Hi Charles

Can't understand why your message bounced, everybody else seems to have been

"How about GEOFFROYS, JEOFFROYS, etc. in the Registers of the French
Churchs of Bristol, Plymouth, Stonehouse and Thorpe-le-Soken? Incidentally
where is Thorpe-le-Soken? In the "West Country"?

Thorpe le Soken is a reasonably large sized village in Essex, not that far
from Colchester up towards the coast. The telephone directory still reads
like a French telephone directory, there are Huguenot descended people all
around that area.

No J references at all but there are 8 references in the records of the
Bristol, all relating to a Marthe GEOFFREY, the wife of Samuel ROULT and
they all refer to baptisms into her son Samuel's family. The family Marthe
and Samuel) are recorded as having come from Sepuret en Poitou. That is all
the information that there is in any of the baptisms.

Hope this helps in some way.
