end of the 17th century. It was noted as existing at the time of the Edict
of Nantes and had two Pasteurs.

and again at the division of the Church from the State in 1905, Marennes
seems to have had the facility to appoint a Pasteur, authorised by 'la
Societe centrale d'evangelisation' which may have almost certainly have
meant a Temple, which would have been registered at both times as
Protestantisme in France is still called a 'culte'.

but they do not keep their records in the Church. The etats-civil are kept
now in the Archives/Marie as are the churches own records, should they
exist.

armies disappeared and it's the same with l'eglise Protestante, many of the
Protestante records have disappeared, even in strong Protestante areas.
I'll have a look to see whether they are available and I'll ring the
Archives to check.

somebody has published them, the chances of finding records on CDRom are
slim to nil. It's even virtually impossible to get the SHPF stuff on CD and
that's SUPPOSED to be readily available!
