Subject: [HUNGARY-L] The 1903 Project: Ship passenger list index.
Date: Fri, 20 Aug 1999 09:41:55 -0400
Hello
I seek 108 volunteers who will rent one microfilm from the National Archives
Series T715. Films 316 to 423. This covers every ship that has arrived in
New York City in 1903.
Each volunteer will transcribe only the names of every passenger list on one
microfilm into a text file on their computer and eventually email it to me.
The text file will also have the names of the ships before each group of
names and the volume number of the microfilm at the very beginning such as
T715 film 316 for example.
I will only begin this project when I find 108 volunteers willing to commit
to doing this project. I plan to place the 108 text files on a cd. I will
either do the lookups myself or make copies of the cd for free if someone
sends me a cd. Once I get 108 volunteers to commit to this project I will
take the 108 volunteers and make a list of the microfilm roll number you
will either rent or buy.
AGLL rents or sells such films as well as NARA.
If you want to volunteer send me a PRIVATE message with the SUBJECT: 1903
PROJECT VOLUNTEER.
Thank you.
Dennis Baer
