Hi Beth,
I am researching my dad's family. My great grandfather Ludwig Emanuel
Manoly, was born in Szabadka, Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1855. While I have
be "dabbling" in research..it is only now that I will have some time to be
more serious. (I recently retired!!) I have found a lot about Manoly's life
in the USA...he played in the NY Philharmonic. I have also found another
Manoly family whose relatives came from Bucovina. I am trying to find
connection.
I would love eventually to travel to Hungary on a "Genealogy Holiday"!
Also, does your Hungarian friend do research in Szabadka? I think it is now
part of Yugoslovia.
Thanks to you and all the wonderful people on this list who have helped
along the way.
