"Ujfalu" in hungarian language means "new village" [uj=new]. So, this name
was the most "popular" in the "old" Hungary [pre WW I; Transilvania
included]:
89 villages existed with this name in 1888. From these, 19 villages were
named simply "Ujfalu" [or Neudorf/new village in german language] and
70 were named XXX-Ujfalu [ie Also-Ujfalu or Zsitva-Ujfalu].
Among the 19 villages with the simple name "Ujfalu", only one was in what at
the end of XIX Century [ie 1888] was known as Transylvania
[Siebenbürgen, Transylvanien, Erdély, Transilvania, Ardeal, Terra
Ultrasilvana, Ultrasilvania, Erdel]:
Ujfaleu/Olah-Ujfalu [Ujfaleu is a romanian form for Ujfalu; Olah=romanian in
hungarian language] in Fogaras Megye/County, in also-arpasi jaras/district
[200 houses, 876 inhabitants, mainly romanians and hungarians].
But in 1898, there existed already another 2 villages with the same name:
Olah-Ujfalu in Transilvania: in Szatmar Megye [nagybanayai jaras, 77 houses,
401 inhabitants, mainly romanians], Kolozs Megye [tekei jaras, 150 houses,
687 inhabitants, mainly romanians].
There existed also Ujfalu in Temes Megye, lippai jaras [248 houses, 1173
inhabitants, mainly germans] but this village was in Banat
[German: Neudorf, Banater Neudorf, Pfefferthal/ Serbian: Banatsko Novo Selo;
today location: in Yugoslavia, at 10 km NE of Pantschowa] and
another village with the same name, also in Banat, but in Torontal Megye
[German: Markowitschewo/ Serbian: Markovicevo/ Variants: Kriva Bara,
Torontalujfalu; today location: in Yugoslavia, at NW Werschetz, on the
border with Romania].

Good Hunting !
