Hi Diane and List,

Diane writes about Johnstown, Pa.: Does anyone know if this was a common
destination? What sort of industry would the immigrant go into there? Does
anyone know anything about the area?

Here are some useful sites, just copy, paste and go:

Primary Site: Johnstown, Pa. Heritage Discovery Center www.jaha.org

Miscellaneous Sites:

http://www.google.com/search?q=Cambria%2BCounty%2BPennsylvania%2BHistorical%2B

Society&btnG=Google+Search

The above sites address the Johnstown Flood, Coal Mines and have some text
telling the story of immigrants to industrial cities and an article "Through
Immigrant Eyes".

NEW SUBJECT:
This reminds me, Magda (Magton), one of our Hungary List members, was
researching Hungarians in Daisytown, Pa. Pennsylvania has two Daisytowns,
ironically both had heavy Hungarian populations. Magda was searching the one
just outside of Johnstown, Pa. I know she was having Email problems and hope
she has gotten the problem corrected. Her advice postings are missed on this
List. She has expert search skills that she shared with us all.
Magda, where are you?

Marika
