Hello list, could someone please translate this Hungarian passage for me. The surname Begyi comes up in my past and I can't find anything on this name except this:
A családnevek képzoi közül a valahonnan való származás jelölésére szolgáló -i (Banyi, Szalai) a ragadványnevekben is elofordul, például a más helységbol való származás (Begyi, Geszteji, Gímesi) vagy a lakóház fekvése alapján létrejött nevek (Bórosi, Sasi, Sígyi) esetében
Thanks so much for your time.
Has anyone heard of this name, Begyi? Do you think it is native Hungarian? This is the only name Begyi from my grandmother's birth village in Northeastern Hungary, Vencsello. So she must have come to that village alone or with a very small family. Her particulars are:
Begyi Erzebet died 1873- 54 years old.

surnames: Dobozi (y)
Pajer - Vinnai - Takacs - Martinek & now Begyi
