According to my Hungarian Village Finder, Atlas, and
Gazetteer for the Kingdom of Hungary CD-ROM:
http://hungarianvillagefinder.com/cdrom/CD.html
as you have already surmised, Kokova aka Rimakokova is
indeed now in Slovakia and called Kokava nad
Rimavicou. While the HVF does not show current
populations, before 1900 there were about 3700
inhabitants living there. The HVF also shows that
there were Roman Catholic and Lutheren churches there.
There were also several pusztas owned by or
associated with Rimakokova, which I mention because
the Roman Catholic inhabitants of these places went
for services in Forgcsfalva, now Lom nad Rimavicou.
You can find these places on this interactive map for
Slovakia:
http://mapy.atlas.sk/aquariusnet/frm_uvod.asp
and here is the URL for the online Slovakia phone
book:
http://www.zoznamst.sk/sk/index.html
The English version is:

Hope this helps,
Steve Nagy
