Subject: anyone run into problems like this?

So far, in my research, I have two distant relatives, the *only* two I have come across, on my Hungarian side and neither one of them believes the research I have done.
In my reseach, I have found that my last name has had several different spelling variations. It is now Sprentz, but it was Princz for several years and spelled that way by most relatives who came to the US. However, I have found relatives in Hungary who have verified my ancestor as being a relative and they have always and still do spell it Sprencz. This is very important when researching in Hungary. Sprencz and Princz are two totally different names. The relative I have found in the US insists the name was and always has been Princz. His great grandfather and mine were brothers.
Another *distant* relative refuses to believe my line ties into hers. She even ignores my emails, so I stopped sending them. She refuses to believe her ggrandmother and my ggrandmother are related, possibly mother/daughter, when I have about 90 percent proof. Any information I have or will find, I will not share with her, because, why should I do all the tedious work to prove to her that our ancestors are one in the same? I definitely could use her help, but I can do without her.
I've never run across this until this past year. Anyone else have to deal with this?
Do you know who killed my father?
John B. SPRENTZ murdered 17 May 1983, ECORSE MI
