That is, Sorin,

indeed excellent news. You know as well as I do: there were lots of
difficulties earlier for genealogists to research in Romania. And I'm
sure many local archivists are still operating in the 'old ways'! ;-)
But that's nothing new; I encountered it in Hungary myself with certain
local registrars, who still thought membership on the Communist party
gave them inalienable rights - for perpetuity.

You should let the researchers in Hungary know about this. I'm sure many
will be jubilant.
