Your BIRO connection is interesting. We don't know the exact relationship, if any to our family, but a BIRO(s?) married a KARNIS. They have roots in the Homestead, PA area. Other names that might help: ASZMONGYA (or its large # of variations), TOTH, PENTEK, and KERTESZ.

The ASZMONGYAs were from Ung Megye
The KERTESZ family was from Tolscva, Zemplen Megye

Father SPIROS, who was mentioned in an earlier thread, has some connection to our family through the Church. He was the pastor who baptised or celebrated at funerals. He, also, might be associated with St. Emeric's Church in Gary, IN.
