To any one:
Is there a listing of the slaves mentioned in these articles, or are known
to exist somewhere? There are a number of our Hunt relatives who are Black
and are trying to find materials on their ancestors, Black and White. This
man, having "over 1700 Slaves", and his estate sure could have a lot of
paper work showing names, dates of birth, sell records and the like which
would help nail down the identity of various problem ancestors.
You can see a will of a Hunt by clicking on, or going to, this URL
Welcome!.....to our World of Genealogy!
http://members.tripod.com/~Linda_T
showing just some of the names various people are searching, and in this
instance, found.
To make it easier I got the direct URL for the page:
http://members.tripod.com/~Linda_T/index-Hunt
It's title is: Hunt Will and Estate Inventory
"1845 will of THOMAS HUNT of Sussex County, Virginia"
I think that a lot of you will find names there matching your own lines. I
found my Cole surname and any number of other surnames I recognized.
I believe that this will exists other places on the web as well as in it's
original location and in books. I do feel comfortable with this transcription.
My regards,
Kay McGee
