Bonnie
Descendants of George Hutson
Generation No. 1
1. GEORGE1 HUTSON was born Bet. 1750 - 1755, and died Bet. 1800 - 1814 in
South Carolina or Tennessee. He married LUCREASEY ?WEAVER. She was born Abt.
1763 in Virginia1, and died Bet. 1850 - 1860 in White Co., Tennesssee.
Notes for GEORGE HUTSON:
Trudy Adams, member of Hudson Family Association, believes from available
census records that Martha may have had 3 other unnamed sisters.
Children are as listed by Trudy from census records.
Creasey was on the tax list in White County, Tennessee in 1817 in the same
district with Benjamin. She had 45 acres of land. She appeared until 1825.
She was not on the 1830 census.
It is believed that Creasey may have been Weaver because of the pension
application of Samuel Weaver of White County. He says he was delayed at the
battle of King's Mountain because his brother-in-law, George Hutson, was
injured. Pension Application, Samuel Weaver, S. 3516. No service or pension
record has been found that appears to belong to this George Hutson.
A George Hutson and Samuel Weaver both appeared on the 1778 tax list of
Washington County, Tennessee. There was more than one Samuel plus other
Weavers in this time and place, and the Samuel Weaver who married Mary
Ballinger in Washington County was not this Weaver. There was also a family
of Weavers near George Hutson on the 1790 and 1800 census in South Carolina.
A sale of some of George Hutson's land in Pendleton, South Carolina by David
Hutson from Rhea Co., Tennessee was the connecting link for this family.
1820 Census, White County, Tennessee
Creecy Hutson no males, 2 girls between 16-26, woman over 45.
Refer to Hudson Family Association Bulletin #50, March 1985 for the listing
of this family by Trudy Adams. The first documentation of George Hutson we
have was in 96 District of South Carolina, January 19, 1788, when he bought
140 acres from Alexander Eden and his wife, Molley, on waters of Carrock
Creek, waters of Saluda River, and the transaction was witnessed by William
Blyth and Joseph Harden, August 24, 1793. George Hutson served on the Petit
jury in Pendleton County, South Carolina on January 24, 1792. Later, George
acquired 240 acres on Olenoy Creek of the Saluda River, originally part of a
grant to P. Hutson and near today's Pumpkintown.
