I suppose that George could have been a witness to his own assault... but
it seems more likely that there were two George Huttos. It looks like
another major case of census taker sleep walking. I did not see Charles
Hutto's house mentioned in the 1820 census either. For that matter I don't
remember hearing anything about a Charles Hutto in GA or AL prior to the
1840 census when one appears in Monroe County, AL. HOWEVER, a Charles in
the area starts making the "name game" a little more interesting, since I
still lean toward John Henry Hutto, the son of Charles, as being the Henry
that died in GA. (Still keeping an open mind though <smile>)

Back to the Georges. The 1830 census lists at least 3 George Huttos. The
one in Baker, GA and two more in Henry, AL. The two in AL remained in Henry
County until their deaths. One was born abt 10 years earlier, and the other
was born about 10 years later than the George that was still in GA as of
the 1840/50 Early County census reports. The earliest record of the
youngest of the three George Huttos (mine) that I am aware of is when he
married in Henry, AL in 1823. No idea where he was prior to that. The
oldest of the three George Huttos, according to the 1850 Henry, AL census,
was still having children in SC as late as 1820. Both of the AL George
Huttos show as being born in SC. All three of the George Huttos were of an
age to "testify" in court in 1819 (or been assualted).
