This is my first mailing to the list which I have recently joined.

I am researching the BONIFAS family which I have traced to the French church
of the Artillery in Spitalfields, London in the 1760's; the eldest son,
John (or Jean) married Jane DUTTON and moved to Dorchester, Dorset, where
they attended the Pease Lane Presbyterian Meeting House. Their son Dutton
BONIFAS moved to Somerset where he lived in South Petherton and Chard. His
son William Dutton BONIFAS moved back to London in the 1860's, where the
family still lives.

The name in this spelling is uncommon in the UK; maybe because the 19th
century produced a large number of daughters and few sons, but I would be
very interested in hearing from anyone who has come across this name
anywhere.

Other names I'm researching are:

Devon/Somerset: GOUGH, RENELL, MOORE, MABER
London: DUTTON, BURRIDGE, TREBILCOCK
Essex: NICE

Best wishes to all
