Good morning Elizabeth,
Information re : Abraham DuPont's emigration from Rouen, France to New York,
then to South Carolina before by 1727, was taken From " Transactions of The
Huguenots,"( Pedigree Tables of the Guerry, Rembert, Michau, DuPont,
Cromwell Families ), by Rev. Robert Wilson. I can' t recall where the info
regarding being in South Carolina prior to December 1699 came from but as
My info regarding POB of his children is inconsistent. I do show all
children with the exception of Alexander DuPont ( born 1718 in St. James
Parish, Goose Creek, South Carolina ) to have been born at an unnamed site
in New York.
According to my info, all of the DuPont family who emigrated to America
by 1800 were descended of Jehan duPont of Rouen, France, born 1538, " who
left the Catholic Church about 1556 & became a convert to the doctrines of
the Reformed or Huguenot Church ".
The info re" Anne Faucheraud, daughter of Charles & Anne Vignaud
Faucheraud came from the above document. That is all the info I have on that
family & would love to hear from you or others who have Faucheraud info.
I have DuBose family intermarried with Rembert, Guerry, etc, who are
collateral kin of DuPont & Dupre, my two primary lines of major interest.
Good to hear from you & I'll look forward to your reply,
Thanks, Joe Lee
