One very minor correction re. (Rev.) John DuBois (1798-1884), son
of Peter and Ann (Mouzon) DuBois - I don't think his middle name
was Elmore. His *son* was named John Elmore Winbourne DuBois,
the Elmore in honor of a maternal line. My cousin Elizabeth is
the expert on this line - Elizabeth, if that's not your conclusion
also, at this point, please let me know.
On another subject - any descendants of Huguenots who came to
the southern U.S. might want to check the Southern Historical
Collection (manuscripts) at UNC/Chapel Hill. They have family
papers of the Ravenels, de Saussures, LaMottes, Manigaults, Porchers,
and many others. Many other familiar surnames turn up w/in these
collections. The URL for the finding aid is:
http://www.lib.unc.edu/mss/inv.html
There is a link to the searchable online catalogue on that
page.
