Now might well be a good time to lay out precisely the objectives of this
list.

I do find it somewhat confusing at times and rather suspect that for one
reason or another it has drifted off course. There appears to be very
little that can be classified as Huguenot in the majority of posting. It
rather seems to be an American list, where the people being researched may,
at some distant past, have had a Huguenot connection.

On the other hand Huguenot research to my mind must involve active research
amongst those place inhabited by our Huguenot ancestors. This means
research during the 16th, 17th and maybe the 18th century. After that date
the people being researched are no longer Huguenots.
