In December 1998's archives, I found Chris Shelley's list of some descendants of Guillaum Godin in a “Godin ancestry” posting. Chris included the children of Benjamin Godin and Mary Anne Mazyck, which I’ve copied below.

Does anyone have additional information about their daughter Catherine Sarah Godin and her husband James Hugh Allison (c.1735–c.1784)?

Specifically, I’m trying to establish a documented link between Catherine Sarah Godin Allison and her apparent great-granddaughter, Catherine Allison (b. 1816, Marion Dist., S.C.) Catherine Allison was the granddaughter of Hugh James Allison (b. 1765) and Frances Rebecca Bellune (b. 1772), and daughter of James Hugh Allison (b.1788) and Rachel Davis (b.1792). Catherine Allison married, first, John Irby and, second, John Crawford Bethea. Catherine Allison’s daughter Sarah Elizabeth Irby married Henry James Rogers 1st of Marlboro County, S.C.
