I am trying to locate the ancestry of Jonas LeRoux/Lerew who immigrated to
Lancaster Co., PA near the time of the Ferree's and Lefever's. Below is an

outline of what I know thus far.

Can anyone share additional information or point me to possible sources? I

would be interested in knowing of any LeRoux/duRoux/Roux in church records
and other records in the areas of Mannheim (Frankenthal, Hemshof,
Oppau, Mannheim), London (Threadneedle, Canterbury, etc.), and
Amsterdam as I list them below.

****

Jonas LeRoux (b. c.1585 Boullonnois, France - bet. 1633-1642 London, Engl.)
(s/o Thomas LeRoux)
sp. Anne BASTIEN/RASTIER (d/o David BASTIEN/RASTIER)
(m. 30 Jun 1605 Threadneedle St. French Hug. Ch., London, England)
- All children but 1 appear to be baptised in this church. The other
child,
Jenne, was baptised in 1624 in the Amsterdam Walloon Church.
- Among Jonas LeRoux's children was a Jonas LeRoux (b. 1617 London).

My theory is that while Jonas Sr. returned to London, England where he
died, perhaps his son Jonas moved with others from Amsterdam to
the Mannheim area of Germany.

Here is another note on a Jonas LeRoux (from "Huguenotten in der Pfalz" by
Helmut Kimmel, 1973):

"On January 27, 1678 Jonas le Roux and his wife from Oppau arrived in
the Walloon Colony of Frankenthal. On March 16, 1720, Jonas le Roux
and his father-in-law, Abraham le Grand, sold their property in Hemshof
(today part of Ludwigshafen)."

Finally, the 1663 Mannheim map lists the following:
de la Jus, Jonas
de la Jus, Jonas (heirs of)
du Rieux, Anthoine
le Roy, Isaac
le Quoy, Jaques
le Roy, Samuel
le Roux, Abraham

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Don Lerew
