Thank you for your e-mail.
Daniel Mitchell, Private, was not among those captured at Newnan. He was
sick in the hospital at Kingston at that time.
The information that I am looking for covers the months of May and June of
1864. Company "I" must have been detached and sent with another regiment or
on some special service. I'd really like to know more about that service.
Unfortunately, my ancestor died at a fairly young age due to the disease he
contracted while fighting in the Atlanta Campaign. I read somewhere that
this was fairly common.
