Janet,

There is a 17 page account of the 7th's history in Ingersoll's, Iowa and the
Rebellion." This account lists many of the dead wounded and prisoners of
the various battles the regiment participated in but I didn't find your
ancestor listed. This book may be available through inter-library loan.

Sue,
I'm wondering if I could find any details on the Iowa 7th Infantry, Co. E,
my great grandfather's unit. Name: Peter A. Hiney. I have those small
entries from the archives in D.C., and I do know he was wounded in
Tennessee, hospitalized in St. Louis, and re-enlisted. But, is there a
written account of the 7th or Co. E.? Thank you!
Janet Lyons
