Seems like a real possibility. Here's what I found for Lewis Dyer ...

Residence Buffalo IA; 43 years old.

Enlisted on 9/20/1864 as a Private.
On 9/20/1864 he mustered into "F" Co. IA 11th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 6/2/1865 at Washington, DC
Other Information: born in New York
