Tom,

I'm afraid that I don't have any information on Hubert O'Bladen other than
his military record as you've already related. And the record I did check, O.
J. Fargo's CD, has him listed simply as Bladen instead of O'Bladen, his name
appearing among the "B" names in the roster.

Have you checked any Jones County sources, such as a historical society, or
perhaps with the State Historical Society of Iowa in Des Moines? I'll do some
searching among my resources here but it might need to wait about a week. I'm
leaving Wed. for Gettysburg for the Remembrance Day event there, but will be
back early next week and will do more checking when I return.

If you're interested, here are some places you might contact (I'm assuming
these are current):

Jones Co. Historical Society

Scotch Grove, IA 52310

Jones County Genealogical Society
P.O. Box 174
Anamosa, Iowa 52205
Phone: 563-462-3911 or 563-432-6389
[they charge a fee for conducting research]

Anamosa Public Library

Anamosa, Iowa 52205
Phone: 319-462-2183
Email:

Good luck! Perhaps others have suggestions.
