Carol,
I'd come across Mary Lanigan's posting in which she stated that George Palmer
had died June 27, 1915, Wapello Co., and was buried in Southlawn Cemetery in
Seymour. I occasionally make a trip through Wapello Co. enroute to Van Buren
and Lee Counties, so will see if I can find something. Those areas, by the
way, are really beautiful parts of the state, especially this time of year (and
I address that also to all those who are continually arguing that Iowa is
flat!).
Thank you, Carol, for your offer to share information re: northwestern
Illinois! I'll keep that in mind! I have names of many Illinois soldiers who
settled in Iowa after the war.
