Hi List, the following is from the Iowa History project. We have Seth Walker who is in the Lee County, IA 1860 census with his mother, then "disappears" after that. One family branch has a story that one brother fought for the North (which could only be Seth if it was true) and one fought for the South (which was his brother George). Another family branch has a story that Seth got out of prison but died on the way home. Despite those two tales, the families who actually descended from his siblings in Iowa have no stories of him at all. Some never even knew he existed. There are 2 Seth Walker's listed in CW records and never is ours. This is the first S. Walker we have found from Iowa listed anywhere. Any suggestions on how to find more on this S. G. Walker?
Thank you so much for any help! Neva Adams
