Looking for Mary Ann CONNOR's parents: My ggrandmother's census records for 1860, 1870 & 1880 report that she was born in Iowa ca 1832, father born in Ireland, mother born in PA. I understand that there were very few white folks living in Iowa at this time. Her sister's census records (MATILDA CONNER) indicate she was born in Ohio, ca 1824. I have no reason to believe there is a native American connection here, but nothing would surprise me. This was not a "society" family and based on her behavior later in life, I am not sure what she always said is believable. Is it at all likely that she was born in Iowa in 1832 and if so, where would be the best place to look for records? She later married in MO, died in UT.
