Hi folks! Just found this mailing list, and thought I'd send off a
message. I recently started researching my surname (Troendle) so I'm
fairly new to genealogical research. Is there antyone else here, by
chance, who is researching the Troendle name in Allamakee County? As I
said, I just started and am going down to the local family history center
this week to see what info I can find about my g-g-grandfather, Franz
Silas Troendle who immigrated from Germany in the mid-1800's. Didn't have
any luck locating his birthplace in Germany from local records, aside from
Baden, Germany...which is a region rather than a town. (There is a
Baden-Baden, but chances are the Baden on his records refers to the
region.) Anyway, before I ramble any further I'll wrap this up. Just
wanted to check things out and say hi. :)
