Hi fellow Allamakee Co. list members. For those who haven't checked this
web-site out yet, please do. Our list-owner has kindly placed a link from
the Allamakee Co. IA GenWeb site or click on the link I have added below.
You may find your ancestors in one of the newspaper abstracts that have been
transcribed and uploaded to this web-site. As of tonight, there are almost
20 years represented and lots of interesting reading. If you want to search
the entire NewspaperAbstract web-site follow the links to the Home page.
Barbara Freeman, the site administrator and owner has done a great job with
her web-site in the year since she uploaded the first newspaper abstract.

Anyone wishing to extract articles of interest from any Allamakee Co. paper
dated BEFORE Jan.1, 1923 please do! Many of us collect parts of these
newspapers when we photocopy microfilm of the papers----there is usually a
lot of usable information on this 8X11 bit of paper.... info. that other
people can use too. You can submit the articles directly to me by e-mail or
use the on-line submission form from the web-site. Either way, I'll upload
them and give you credit on-site for your contribution.
