Hi Suzann,
Welcome!

Here is my input for what it is worth: I'm a fan of the genconnect
boards -- obits, wills, queries, etc. I like the features, like
notification of replies to my messages; the ability to search all the boards
across the country at once from the global search engine; and the
familiarity with the boards that I, and thousands of others now have.

I would expecially hate to loose the global search engine capabilities of
genconnect. None of our earliest pioneer ancestors were born in Allamakee
Co., they all came from someplace else. Many didn't stay there and removed
to other locations over the years. With the genconnect search engine I can
search for "John Doe" in general and find all the places he might have been,
instead of having to guess where he came from or where he may have gone.

My vote would be to leave the genconnect boards as they are, even with their
occasional problems. No system is going to be perfect, but the "don't fix
it, if it isn't broken" usually holds pretty true to form.

I will be eager to see what others have to say.
Sharyl
