Subject: [IAALLAMA-L] Lansing Newspaper article for Aug. 1894
Date: Fri, 26 Jul 2002 18:00:56 EDT

Hello list, I live in Calif. and was in Lansing last month; however the
library was closed so I couldn't check on an old newspaper article. I'm
interested in an article (actually an obit.) about my g-grandfather, Wilson
H. Foote, a brakeman for the Soo Line, who was killed in Almena, WI on Aug.
19, 1894. He was born near McGregor, however, he married a girl, Fannie Coy,
who was born in Lansing. An article I found about his death, in a WI paper,
made mention of "an article in the Lansing newspaper that said he had taught
music there for several winters." So something must have been written about
him in the Lansing newspaper. Would anyone be able to check this out for me?
I would really appreciate anything you might find. By the way, Lansing is
a beautiful little town!! Thanks, Linda
