One of the problems I have had in doing research is easy access to census
films. I also have found that transcriptions are not always read
accurately by others, particularly if the handwriting is very bad and they
don't know the name. After I read Mr. Wolterman's post, I thought I would
pass on a solution. You must have a CD Rom drive on your computer.
Heritage Quest has begun to copy the original records and copy them on
Digital CD Rom which they are selling for about the price of a paperback
book, $19.95, no postage. ( BTW: I have no connection with them except as
a customer.) My family gave me my first copy for Christmas and what a great
Christmas present it has turned out to be. I am sitting here at my
computer on this bad driving day using it on my own time at my own pace.
See what is currently available on their website at HeritageQuest.com. I
ordered from the site and received my copy within the business week.
Hope you are not all out shoveling today. Work but isn't it beautiful.
