I noticed some activity on the Converse surname. If you will look at site http://www.rootsweb.com/~iablackh/iamen1.htm you will see noted a Willard L., and Samuel A Converse in the Men of Iowa book. If interested I can scan the images which refer to these men for you.

In response to following posting:
Hi Cleo!
We should put our heads together on this CONVERSE family.
My grandmother, Gladys Dora MOFFITT EDDY, married a CONVERSE and is buried
in Waterloo Cem. with that name.
I do not know where her husband, CONVERSE, was buried. It's not next to
her. I do have some old pictures of Gladys CONVERSE and her husband. I
heard his nickname was "Shorty". I believe the pictures are from early to
mid 1940's when Gladys and Shorty were visiting Gladys' son, Howard EDDY,
(my father) shortly after he married my mom who was from Council Bluffs, IA.
You can email me directly if you'd like or we can keep in touch through
message board. Thanks for writing to board. Deb...
