Surname: Jesse, Radtke, Rohr, Baggs
-------------------------
BIO: Louis Jesse was only 12 years old when he emigrated in 1861 from Dombroko,
Prussia, with his parents, Gottfied and Wilhelmine (Radtke) Jesse. His
wife Anna was the daughter of James and Malinda (Rohr) Baggs of Ottumwa,
IA. This couple lived with their children in Madrid, IA, in Boone Co. near
the Des Moines River.
A charming circa 1901 family portrait of the handsome couple and their
eight children appeared on the Jan-Feb 1988 cover of "The Genealogical
Helper" magazine submitted by a great-grandson of Louis and Anna Jesse
who then lived in Coupeville, WA. (Please reference issue for details).
Pictured are Louis and Anna Jesse, sons Orville, Ray and Cliff, and daughters
Ida, Minnie, Alma, Edna and Bertha.
Hopefully, this "snippet" of information will serendipitously provide "just
the right clue" to Boone Co. Iowa researchers.
