Pat wrote, "I am looking for any information on the names of Charles Beine's parents name. Charles Beine died 12-6-1936 in Plainfield, Ia where he is also buried. This information may have been in his obituary. ..."

Pat, In the Nashua Reporter, I've found some references to Charles being ill November 1936, and some references (Dec 16) to family members attending his funeral, but couldn't locate an actual obituary for him in the Dec 9 or 16 paper.

Looking at the IA Cemetery Record for this Charles, I see that he was born circa 1861.

The 1930 and 1920 censuses list Charles BEINE in Bremer county and indicate that he was born circa 1862-1863 in Illinois, and that both his parents were born in Holland.

In 1900, Charles was enumerated in Charles City, Floyd Co., IA.

A possible family of origin for Charles was enumerated in Illinois in 1880:

1880 US Census, IL, Stephenson Co., Erin
BEINE, Simon, 50, Farmer, born [Leppdewold?], parents born same place
Sophia, 43, wife, Keeping House, born Lipseig, father born Lipseig, mother born [Hanover?]
Charles, 16, son, at home, born Leppdewold
Simon, 14, son, at home, born Leppdewold
Sophia, 9, daughter, born IL
William, 7, son, born IL

Looking at later censuses for Simon & Sophia, their birth places are listed as Germany rather than Holland.

Note the following immigration information which may be for the family you're researching; note the likeness of "Leppewold" and "Lippe," and the fact that Charles and Simon Jr.'s ages/birthplaces in the 1880 census are consistent with the immigration information below:

Passenger and Immigration Lists Index, 1500s-1900s Record

Note that the data from the manifest for the BREMEN's May 26 1868 arrival matches the family enumerated in the 1880 census, above, showing Simon, Sophie, son Carl age 4 yr 6mo, and son Simon age 9 mo:

Name: Simon Beine

I believe the following IL Death Index entries may be for Charles BEINE's mother and brother, respectively. I recommend contacting a Stephenson county library to inquire about an obituary for Sophia, which may indicate whether the Charles BEINE of Plainfield IA was indeed a member of the Stephenson county, IL, BEINE family.
