Thanks for your interest. Currently, I am unaware of any Iowa projects
being indexed, but some time ago I was randomly indexing one of the Iowa
census and found one of my ggg uncles on it. Sort of serendipitous.

When you go to the website you can look for the current projects and see if
there is anything that you would be interested in. There are two ways to
receive batches to index. You can just request any batch at random. I have
been recently doing Chicago birth records, and Washington and Louisiana
death records as well as various census. Or you can choose which project
you want to index.

Some people have questioned why the census records are being indexed when
they can be found on Ancestry.com or Heritagequest. Those are for-profit
sites and they have paid for their own indexing and I am sure wouldn't be
willing to share that index with someone who is offering the results for
free.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if you need more information.

I sure hope you take this on. The work that others have done on this have
helped me a great deal.

Leslie
