My grandparents, Joseph Henry Kolker and Elizabeth "Lizzie" Wiewel, were married in Mt. Carmel, Carroll, Iowa on April 27, 1897. I found an obituary for Mrs. J. P. Bernholtz (Ann Baumhover) who died July 26, 1934, among my grandmother's papers after she died. Joseph sold his land in December 1906 to Henry Bruning and moved his family to Okarche, OK., so I don't know why Grandmother would have a 1934 obituary of Mrs. Bernholtz. Evidently, someone send it to her and she kept it all these years, so I'm assuming Mrs. Bernholtz meant something to her. Is Mrs. Bernholtz related to you? Would you, by any chance, have any old papers in your possessions about the Kolker families in Mt. Carmel?
