Thanks for the reply, you are the first.
The debate rages on.
Your explanation is valid, to a point.
What if we were to post a list of names that have been identified as baseball players in your county?
A bit of background. There are 9 players on a baseball team, and a practice of newspapers is to print at least 18 names for every individual game played. "If" these names were actual people, wouldn't it be relevant to genealogy?
Gosh it would be nice to know if a rich, famous, tolerant, churchgoing BLACK man were an opponent of my ancestors.
We are looking for as many people to help as possible, how can we spread the word?
How does this topic have anything to do with occupation? If we were to post under occupation in Iowa would anyone with potential opponent ancestors really be able to look here?
I completely understand the policies, it seems that you are interpreting them and drawing your own conclusion.
Every post regarding the work we are doing is specific to the county it is posted to. The researchers of these counties can decide what is spam and what isn't.
How would you explain the dozens of offers to locate information in the last week, despite the postings being deleted?
Would we be better off to send only one a day? or ten? or just not to Cerro Gordo county?
Please clarify these questions. The information needed for our research can not be held up. We need a way to acquire it as soon as possible, if it exists.
Do you have any suggestions on how this can be done?
Respectfully,
Pete
