Harold, this death notice has very little in the way of clues, but I'll see what more I can find. I believe Lyle's mother may have been Australian.

Listed As Dead

WASHINGTON [AP] -- The Army has announced two more Iowans, previously reported as missing in action in Korea, now are listed officially as dead. They are Cpl. Lyle Harvey CARMAN, son of Mrs. Minnie M. CARMAN, Mason City, and Pfc. Paul REESE, son of John H. REESE, Pomeroy.
