C. F. Schroeder, 75, Prominent Goose Lake Banker, Dies

Goose Lake, June 11 - (Special)- Charles F. Schroeder, 75, a director in
the Gosse Lake Savings bbank since 1908, a prominent farmer and active
in business circles, died at 9 p.m. Thursday in his home after a lingering
illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in his home with the Rev.
A. G. Langholz of Preston officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery.

Mr. Schroeder was born Aug. 8, 1861 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and
came to the United States when eight years old with his parents, Frederick
and Caroline Schroeder. He lived in Center township eight years and thenmoved
to this vicinity where he spent the remainder of his life.

He was married Feb. 18, 1891 to Miss Augusta Husen.

Mr. Schroeder is survived by his wife and seven children, Joseph, Carl
and Charles at home, Jerry and Mrs. Hans Jurgensen of Goose Lake; Ernest
Schroeder, Clinton, and Mrs. Virtus Koch, Miles also two sisters, Mrs.
Hannah Hinrichs, Clinton and Mrs. Emil Lutt, Niobara, Nebr, and 13 grandchildren.
