Everyone should already be using it for it's firewall capabilities. If
your not using it, then everytime you connect to the Internet for any
length of time, your computer is wide open to hackers.
Among firewalls, ZoneAlarm prevents unwanted outgoing, as well
as unwanted incoming communications. Only the new version of
Sygate, currently under beta testing, matches the later capability.
ZoneAlarm Pro is a must have program because of its firewall and
email filtering capability.
The only Con is it's not free, it costs about $30. If everyone used a
utility like this, you wouldn't have things like Code Red around, nor
would you have all of these worms propagating and spreading like
flies.
By the way, these things floating around with email are either
Worms or occasionally Trojans. Viruses get into computers,
typically from floppy disks or CD-Roms, and do not announce there
presence. Viruses are also usually very descructive, deleted files
or reformating hard drives. They aren't just annoyances like the
worms that have been floating around.
