The subject of this sketch was born in Kentucky in l824 and located in
Decatur County in l854. He resided near Davis City until May 5, l898,
when the angel of death claimed him for a citizen of the spirit world.

In l858 he married ISABEL JORDAN. There were born to them three
children--two girls and one boy. The boy preceded the father across the
river of death.

The deceased leaves a wife and two daughters to mourn his departure.
The funeral services were conducted by the writer, in Davis City,
Monday. The deceased gave evidence that he was ready to go. Interment
occurred at Davis City.
