VOLNEY H., son of GRANT T. and ISABELLE DORSEY, was born in Leon, April
5, l89l, and died near High Point, July 5, l898, aged 7 years and 2
months.

VOLNEY was an unusually bright, intelligent boy, although never very
strong physically. He was ambitious and studious, memorizing lengthy
pieces and declaiming them in a manner that would have done credit to
much older persons. He was stricken with brain trouble, and the frail
body found rest in death.

"I'll take the little lambs," said He,
"And lay them on my breast."

The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Horn at High Point, July 6,
after which the body was laid away to await the resurrection morn.
