Decatur County Journal
August 20, l903

July 24th, l903, MRS. ELLA G. POTTS died at her home near Scott City,
Scott County, Kan. She was the only daughter of MR. and MRS. J.C.
CRIDER, of High Point, Ia., the joy and sunshine of her parents and only
brother. She remembered her Creator in early youth, accepting Jesus as
her never failing Savior and guide. In the fall of l894 she yielded her
life to God through Christ and his spirit, and on October l2th was
buried in baptizm to walk in newness of life uniting with the Brethren
Church at Crown Chapel, remaining true and faithful, preparing in life
to meet the end of her journey here and begin life eternal "over there."

Her life was filled with gentleness, purity, kindness and love. Her
school days were joyous and happy and in her amiable nature was naught
but warmth and affection for her schoolmates and friends.

In the spring of l90l, when earth was putting on new beauty and
freshness, she was married to EDDIE M. POTTS. After spending a short
time in Joplin, Mo., her husband's home, she moved to Kansas, a loving
and happy bride, full of life and animation with the rich hopes of a
bright future opening to them. To add joy and brightness to their home
was given a little daughter, now nine months old. The little one with
her papa, a loving and kind husband, her father and mother, and only
brother and grandmother are left to mourn her loss, with many other
relatives and friends. At the age of 2l years, 9 months and 6 days she,
in peace, passed away from our midst.
