Sunday morning at four o'clock the light of a young and promising spirit
flickered out. After a short illness, GRACE, the fifteen year old
daughter of MR. and MRS. S.W. WALLACE, died at her home in south Leon.
For about a week she struggled with an attack of pneumonia together with
other complications, and although every possible medical assistance was
rendered, her constitution became too much broken to withstand the
disease. She was a bright and accomplished girl, one of the best
scholars in the Leon High School, and a favorite with all her school
companions and a leading member of the M.E. Sunday School. She had
united with the church on probation only a short time ago.

The funeral was held at the Methodist Church on Wednesday afternoon,
conducted by Rev. Geo. M. Hughes who preached a most beautiful and
touching funeral discourse. The young ladies of her Sunday School class
acted as pall bearers, and the high school was dismissed, the pupils and
professors attending the funeral in a body. Her remains were laid to
rest in the Leon Cemetery.

The loving parents have the sympathy of all in their sad bereavement.
The pupils of the high school adopted resolutions of respect to her
memory which appear in another column.
