A pretty wedding was solemnized at the home of MR. and MRS. WILL WOOD, a
few miles northeast of Weldon, on Wednesday evening, August l2, l9l4, at
8:30 o'clock. The contracting parties being MISS MERLE WOOD and ALBERT
D. WILSON, of Weldon, IA. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J.G.
Duling, of Garden Grove, Ia., and was witnessed by about fifty guests.

Miss Erma Wilner, of Aurora, Neb., sang "O Promise Me", and promptly at
8:20 p.m., the bridal party took their places under an arch of smilax
and flowers at the entrance of two large white gates, as the wedding
march by Lohengrin was played by Miss Winnifred Garris.

The impressive "ring ceremony" was used; little EARNEST WOOD, brother of
the bride, carrying the ring on a white rose. The bride was attended by
MISS LUELLA WALLACE; the groom by EARL WOOD. MISSES FRANCIS GARRIS and
BESSIE HATFIELD acted as bridesmaids, and FREDA and LELIA AAIRY, GEORGIE
WILLIAMS and EDNA WOOD as ribbon bearers. During the congratulations,
"A Perfect Day" was beautifully sung by Miss Milner, after which a
two-course luncheon was served. The bride wore a dress of dainty white
silk and shadow lace and carried a bouquet of white roses. The maid of
honor and bridesmaids wore pink and white carrying out the color scheme
of the evening.

The following day the young couple went to Omaha and Council Bluffs for
a short honeymoon, after which they will be at home to their friends in
their new home six miles northeast of Weldon.

The bride and groom have resided near Weldon for some time and are the
most popular young people of the community. The bride has taught school
in Clarke County for the past two years. She is a graduate of the
Garden Grove High School and is a most refined and estimable young
lady. The groom is a son of MR. and MRS. DOUGH WILSON. He is a
prosperous young farmer and is a man of excellent character and habits.
MR. and MRS. WILSON were the recipients of many beautiful and useful
presents which is an index to the esteem in which they are held by their
friends.

The happy couple have the hearty good wishes and congratulations of
their large circle of friends.
