The following obituary and appreciation is from the heart and pen of her daughter:

SARAH ANN STANLEY was born May 7, l837, in Putnam County, Indiana. When a young girl, she became a member of the Methodist Church; with her parents moved to Decatur County, Iowa, in about l850; married COLUMBUS B. ROWELL, July l9, l856. Five children were born to this union, four boys and one girl. Three are living: THOMAS F. ROWELL, McCook, Neb.; JOHN F. ROWELL, Thermopolis, Wyo., and MRS. LILLIAN M. WARREN, Ft. Morgan, Colo. There are ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

The family moved from Mt. Ayr, Iowa to (can't read)
Nebr., in l883. After the passing of father, mother, made her home during the winter months with us, where she enjoyed all the comforts and pleasures that willing hands and generous hearts could give her, but when the warm spring days came she always longed to go to her dear home and neighbors in McCook, feeling there is no place like home, sweet home.

Our dear mother was the type who gave herself to her home and family; for the good and comfort of her loved ones, she was the embodiment of unselfish devotion, her gentle influence always pointing to the higher life. Mother enjoyed life; she retained her youthful spirit, she loved nature, she always looked for the beautiful sunsets, dearly loved birds and flowers. Being of an industrious nature she never gave up, always busy, not until recently did she remark, "My work's most done," and June 25, l92l, she folded her hands -- well done good and faithful servant. We her children believe as expressed by Dr. James Campbell, "Death is no longer going into exile, it is going home. It is falling asleep on earth and waking up in Heaven." That is where mother is, she has found the loved ones gone on before. We cannot pay our debt for all the love that she has given; but Thou, Oh Lord, will not forget her due reward --
Bless her in Heaven.

MRS. LILLIAN M. WARREN
Ft. Morgan, Colo., June 26, l92l.
