Hi Nancy & everyone on the list.......I love this list, even though I haven't been on it long-I love to read and save all the wonderful articles you post. I have never been to Decatur County, but I have ancestors from there......maybe there is still someone there who know of and is researching the James Perdue family who moved to the area-wife's name was Anna McCune....my Dad says he remembers a cousin from that area in his early childhood-he was born in 1929, Grandson of Frank and Mary Perdue Davis. I think he said the name may have been Conklin?? I would love to hear more about this family or anyone who knows of them. My Dad is the last of his siblings alive, and was diagnosed with leukemia this year. I am trying to find as much family history as I can for him while he is still here to enjoy it!
I would glady volunteer to help in anyway I can-typing , etc.........I am at home most of the time. Also, I am in Muscatine County, and will gladly help anyone with whatever I can in this area. Just let me know!
