EDWARD WILLIAMS died at his home in Richland Township, northeast part of Decatur County, Iowa, March lst, l898. Was born in the State of Ohio, August 8, l8l9, being 78 years. The deceased was an old settler of Decatur County. He was married to SUSANA GATES in Ohio. To this union 8 children were borne, four boys and four girls, one boy and one girl died some years ago. He came to Missouri when young; stayed there a short time and then came to Decatur County in l854, and settled on the farm where he died. He was loved by all who knew him; this was shown by the large crowd that was at his funeral. We will soon all be gone. We drop off one by one. Uncle ED as we always call him, has gone. We will all soon be there.

His funeral was preached by the writer from 2nd Cor. 5th Chapter, l0th verse, after which Rev. Frelan Edwards, the Pastor of the Baptist Church known as the Camden Church, gave a short sketch of his life as he knew him ever since he came to this county and then all took the last look at the remains.

A word to the children, be good to your mother, be kind to each other. He leaves a large circle of friends to mourn his loss with the widow and children. We laid his body away in the Mount Zion graveyard to wait the resurrection morn.
