LOTTIE ANN PETERS was born in Eden Township, Decatur County, Iowa, April 22, l899, died Feb. 3, l902, aged 2 years, 9 months and l2 days.

She was the fourth child of MR. and MRS. GRANT PETERS, living 3 miles north of Davis City, and died after a short illness with spinal fever. She was a beautiful chid, dearly loved by all, but like a tender bud her life was blasted by the frost of death. The funeral services were held at Bethel Church, conducted by Rev. Knoll, Pastor of the M.E. Church at Davis City, and the little body tenderly laid to rest by loving hands. The bereaved parents and family have the sincere sympathy of many friends in their bereavement.

We shall meet but we shall miss her,
There will be one vacant chair.
We shall linger to caress her
While we breathe our evening prayer.
When two years ago we gathered
Joy was in the mild blue eyes,
But a golden cord is severed
And our hopes in ruin lie.

True they tell us wreathes of glory
Evermore will deck her brow,
But this soothes the anguish only,
Sweeping o'er our heartstrings now,
Sleep today Oh early fallen,
In thy green and narrow bed,
Dirges from the pine and cypress,
Mingle with the tears we shed.
